Ever wonder what it's like to hit over 200 MPH in the quarter mile? Thanks to the new HOT ROD Magazine ride-along program, you can now experience the excitement and pure violence of a 200 MPH run down the drag strip in a street legal car! In this video we ride along with Larry Larson in his twin turbo '66 Nova. He would end up winning the 2010 Drag Week and not only join the 200 MPH club but also be the first to break into the sixes on the last run of the last night of compettition - 6.95 E.T. at 209 MPH! The video of that record breaking run is also on the Hot Rod YouTube channel and under the video tab at HOTROD.COM. 

Danny Thompson, driving Brent Hayek's E85-powered, 1,200+ HP Mustang, got a little out of shape on a 260-plus mph run at Bonneville, the rearend came around, and the car went airborne. Watch the video and watch Danny's head and hands. As the car leaves the ground and it gets quiet, he's looking out the side window at the ground before it hits. It flew something like 300 feet. Then you can see him shut everything off and even release the window net before it all comes to a stop. Fear of fire will do that to you. 

Bobby Russo's 1964 Corvette is motivated by a single turbo on a salvage yard LS engine and runs in the mid 10's which is not that surprising...What makes this time somewhat amazing is the fact that Russo's Vette is still sporting the stock IRS and 225 BFG mud and snow rated radial tires! Meet Bobby and ride along for a few passes with him in this cool mid year Vette.
