For race car drivers, racing isn't just a part of their lives every weekend it's with them every minute of every day all season long. There is seemingly always something to be built, repaired, adjusted, or attended. From the hours spent in the shop, to the hours spent on the track, to the hours spent making appearances, a race car driver's day is never quite long enough.
At the race track, fans get just a glimpse of the racing life. But what happens between the races? There has to be more to being a driver than just steering a car, right? Right, there is more, much more, and who better to learn that from than a race car driver himself.
Busch driver Jamie McMurray enters the 2001 season as a solid Rookie of the Year candidate. Though just 24 years old, Jamie is a skilled and accomplished driver, having spent more than 13 years in racing. Jamie knows how to drive, but he also knows the ups and downs of choosing racing as profession. And now here is your chance to know, too.
In his own words Jamie will be writing weekly installments on his experiences during the 2001 Busch season, which you can only read on www.stockcarracing.com and www.circletrack.com. So, if you want to know more than just what you see at the track, read on...
