Comparing The Hardware
Perhaps the biggest difference between the cars in the Goodyear Challenge Series and the UARA-STARS and their Super Late Model cousins is in the weight.
The Challenge and UARA cars weigh in at 2,900 pounds, and the Super Lates weigh only 2,700.
The height of both is about 49 inches.
Price? Generally, that's a big variable. It's not what's invested in the car, but rather what one might bring in a sale. The "limited" Late Models run about $35,000-$60,000 while the Supers are more in the range of $65,000-$100,000. The wheelbases are roughly the same, and Goodyear tires on hand run roughly from $100 to $250, depending on the track and series.
Monte Carlo is a favorite body for the Challenge and UARA series, and Super Lates lean toward the Taurus and Monte Carlo.
