Quick CrewMatt Kenseth may have had a tough 2001 season, but his crew managed to take away one big positive from the year. They won the Union 76/Rockingham World Pit Crew Championship held during the fall at North Carolina Speedway.
The crew, led by crew chief Robbie Reiser, posted a winning time of 17.6 seconds, just ahead of the 18.3-second stop recorded by Jeff Gordon's pit crew.
Crewmen on the DeWalt Power Tools Ford team are Benjy Grubbs, Mark Demarco, Jeff Vandermoss, Phil Drye, Ed Young, Dave Smith and Bryan Dunaway.
Equally big winners in the competition had to be the fans. The competition was limited to the top 25 teams in points, so that reduced the mind-numbing repetition spectators face. It's just too bad the fans needed flashlights to see who won.
