This is what your trailer could look like when finished. Thisinexpensive trailer has several unique features.

The axle on the right has stock spring location. The one on the left hasthe spring flipped to be on the bottom. This lowers the trailernearly 4 inches.

If you are not sure of the strength of a mobile-home axle, read theaxle's tag like the one shown here from the axles we used. Checkyour state DOT regulations for use of mobile-home axles.

When the side flange of the trailer is cut to make the dovetail, it isnecessary to reinforce the opening with a robust diamond- shapedpatch.

A jack and a steel plate secure axle halves for welding. Be sureto align the springs before you weld.
