I welded 2 pieces of angle iron together and ran both of the discs for 30 minutes each on a frame. CGW wheel was a harder wheel and required a little more force to hold in place while grinding. Hello, Question: How many drivers would use financing to complete their cars in order to get a leap on sponsorship? We are thinking about offering financing for drivers to use to get parts for their cars. We are thinking somewhere in the range of $3-$10k. This could be used for parts to get you into the race or additional parts that drivers could use for backup. We have just started getting into the sponsorship side of things but also want to offer the financing to help move the sport forward. Thoughts?

Hi, I'm a big stock car fan and like a lot of fans I dream of driving one. Someday maybe, but until then I have my '87 Caprice street machine. I don't know much about racing equipment or what all it specifically takes to get a car to corner better but I hope you guys on here could give me some advice. I'm planning on upgrading my wheels and tires, saw some Bassett DOT approved wheels, a set of 15x7's with 3.625" backspace going for a pretty good deal. With what little I know I would assume that you should buy the widest wheel that will fit so you can get a really wide tire on there and the wheel should also have the most backspacing possible so that the cars stance is wide? Of course I'm not exactly sure what will fit on my Caprice yet. Not sure what to look for in tires as far as height and width, and tread because like I said this is a street car, but I only drive it on dry days. Any help appreciated thanks!

I guess there are adequate complaints right here and elsewhere to set this steering issue (pulling to the left) into its personal thread. I've skilled it and I know others have. Just wished to see just how a lot of there are and if everyone else has discovered how to fix it. It seems to be developed into the steering logic, perhaps to avoid torque steering concerns? Thank the NASCAR guys that tested the inner liner. Guys like Darel Dieringer,David Pearson.and others, would purposly run over a board with nails in it at 160MPH to test the inner liner :confused: at DAYTONA back in the sixty's. Darel's son Darel (the demon) Dieringer still keeps family tradition alive. He races in the Super Truck Series. When Talledaga opened guys Like Richard Petty didn't want to run there. The cars were running so fast the tires never lasted more then a few laps. :confused: 1964 E. Glenn Fireball Roberts car #22 in turn three of the world 600 @ Charlote Motor Speedway hit Junior Johnson and Ned Jarret. Robert's car burst into flame(driver's worst night mare) Ned Jarret pulled Robert's from the fire. Robert's was burned over 70% of his body. He died 39 days later. :( In those days the Stock Cars were really Stock Cars. You knew a Pontiac,Chevrolet,Ford Galaxie a, and the Dodges and the Plymouths. Those big cars turning 180MPH was something to handle.I don't think you can compare the cars of those days to the cars of today. :grin: :cool:
