I had no idea that there could be so many components in a transmission, like the ones seen in the picture.   However, when it comes to something complicated like that, I would imagine that people would want it fixed or built the right way the first time.    Luckily, there seem to be services out there that can help with things like this should help be needed.  http://www.shiftrighttransmissionspa.com/transmission_rebuilding_jeannette_PA.html

These are all the parts in an automatic transmission? That is a lot of parts! I have been wanting to build my own car, but I don't know too much about building one. Do kits like this come with instructions? If so, I would feel better about building a car. If it doesn't then my dream of building my own Shelby Cobra might not come true.

Those are some really amazing photos of that transmission. I have only ever seen the one in my car, and it definitely wasn't as complicated as this one. Felicity, that is pretty much the only thing that you could do for the transmission in a car that old. It is one of the most important parts of the car to keep it running, so if you don't get it repaired by a professional, you won't be able to drive it. http://www.dominionautomatic.com/en

That's actually really helpful to know that in the second slide where you talk about the percentage of power losses with "bone-stock setups." If we could get it down to the 2 percent range like you were talking about, we'd be in much better shape with our Monte Carlo losing its power easily. I think this will be a good thing to bring up at the auto shop for the transmission of our 1987 Monte Carlo. What else would you suggest for the transmission of a car that old?

The transmission just went out in my G20 and I've been trying to decide between scrapping it or repairing the transmission.  Buying this kit to rebuild the transmission might be the answer to my problems.  My G20 isn't heavily modded, but I have done some things to it.  Upgrading it with a performance transmission might be a lot of fun.  This is definitely something I am going to look into.

This would be pretty incredible being able to rebuild a transmission on your own. That definitely wouldn't be something that I would be totally against as well. It really just comes down to have the right tools and knowing how much pressure to put on the materials that you are using. Thank you for sharing. http://www.satrans.com
